The Eastern Telecom. Projects circle is one of the members of the Telecom.
fraternity. The Eastern Telecom. Projects Circle
with Headquarters at Calcutta was created on
01.06.1969 with the responsibility of planning and execution
of major Long Distance Transmission and
Switching Projects in the eastern region. Eastern
Telecom Projects Circle cover territorial jurisdiction of the Bihar, Jharkand,
Orissa, West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Island Telecom Circles. The
total geographical area witch the activities
are spread out is 433681 Sq. Kms.
The circle is responsible
for the planning and execution of Optical Fiber cable, Microwave
and UHF scheme and Satellite works in Eastern
Regions. In addition, the Eastern Telecom Project circle has been installing
Digital trunk automatic Exchanges, Electronic
Exchanges and commissioning STD services.
This circle has also been entrusted with RF planning of CDMA WLL projects
in West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Jharkand and Andaman & Nicobar Island Telecom
Circles.
